Annecy, France - I Am Not A Dog Person

Today was another beautiful day in Geneva and a lovely day to travel to Annecy, France, which is only about an hour away. Annecy is nestled in between a large lake and the Alps. In this way it reminds me very much of Bariloche. However, being the beginning of fall, there is no snow on the mountains. Well, except for Mont Blanc which I was able to get a nice view of from Geneva which is still fairly white. The sheer, tall, limestone cliffs that surround Lake Annecy are making me itch to climb. Unfortunately, the bathroom in my room here does not have a door, and therefore, no door frame on which to do some pull-ups.

Did I mention how awesome the door frame at my Geneva hotel was for pull-ups? Anyway, I am not staying at a traditional hotel. I absolutely love my cottage-like room and incredibly spacious bathroom despite the fact that it is doorless. Also, the grounds run up to the lake, so in about 2 minutes from leaving my room, I can be lakeside, staring at the Alps. Sadly, the weather is forecasted to change by tomorrow, with temperatures dropping and rain coming in. That will make me sad. But at least I had today.

Oh, I suppose I should just mention that the food and wine here is incredible though that really does go without saying…

Also, I am not a dog person (I’m not!) but there is an incredibly huge, incredibly cute dog here that I can squish to tide me over until I get home to squish Hopi.

  3. It's so pretty and picturesque there!! And AP, those who are truly "not dog people" don't generally allow fluffy black puppies to not only share their tent while camping at Washington Pass, but also usurp their sleeping mat in the middle of the night. I'm jus' sayin'... :) Are you speaking French to that dog?

  4. yes! I walk up to the dog whenever possible and yell as loudly as I can 'tu es un squishy chien! N'est pas?! Oui oui!' I'm not sure I'll be invited back...
